The Society of Confederate Descendants is an organization preserving the history and legacy of Confederate Heroes, so future generations may understand the motives that galvanized the Southern Cause. Organized at Mount Pleasant, Texas, on April 14th, 2025, the SCD continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved.

The Society of Confederate Descendants is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Southern heritage and the truth as it pertains to what the boys in gray fought, suffered, and died for.

Our main objective is education. We try to inform the public and especially our younger generation about the true causes of the War of Northern Aggression. We try to aid any individuals who seek their Confederate ancestors. We work to erect new Confederate monuments and to maintain the ones which are already standing. Many more duties and public services are performed by the Sons & Daughters of Confederate Veterans; the list goes on and on.

Our goals remain:

* EDUCATING THE PUBLIC - particularly future generations, on the true history of the Confederate States;
* PARTICIPATING IN EVENTS - such as graveside memorials, reenactments, parades, and school presentations,
* COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT - Such as donations to local charities that support our cause,
* HONORING - all Confederate Veterans with the dignity and respect they earned and deserve,
* LOCATING, MARKING, DEDICATING & MAINTAINING - the graves of CSA Veterans, and
* ASSISTING IN ACTIVITIES - designed to increase public awareness, truth, and understanding of the War Between the States.

The Society of Confederate Descendants is open to male & female Descendants of soldiers, sailors and government officials that served in the Confederate States of America. Join us in our effort to preserve and protect our southern heritage by honoring the memory of our ancestors that served the Confederate States of America.

General Stonewall Jackson "My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave."
